6.6 Introducing Doxygen
Doxygen is a tool that allows one to generate documentation directly from a
project's source code. There are no complicated, specially formatted
documentation tags required for one to get significant benefit from Doxygen. By
simply adding an additional asterisk (`*) or slash (
/`) to existing comments,
they become special documentation blocks that Doxygen will add to any generated
documentation. A few simple Doxygen commands allow the majority of special
documentation tasks to be performed.
Please use Doxygen style comment blocks, at a minimum, when writing new code. If you have time, or are already making modifications, please update existing comments. You will be glad you did.
This document describes the Doxygen elements and style as it applies to EDK II. Other supported Doxygen tag and comment formats are to be eschewed in favor of the style documented here.
